Safety and security

Is the center licensed and insured?

Bambi Day Care Centers comply with the licensing and permitting requirements of the Department of Health and Hygiene (DOHMH), Office of Children and Family Services (OCFS), the NYC Department of Buildings (DOB), and the Fire Department of New York (FDNY).

What are the security measures, such as checking children in/out?

Bambi Day Care Centers’ facilities foster a safe learning environment for children and staff.
We maintain a record of arrival and departure times of all authorized guests.
Families sign children in during arrival and sign them out during departure.

Is transportation provided?

Bambi Day Care Centers provide yellow school buses.

Are staff members certified in CPR and first aid?

All Bambi Day Care Staff receive basic CPR and first aid training before providing services, and every two years thereafter. In addition, at least one staff member is certified in CPR and first aid.

Staff qualifications and ratios

What are the staff’s qualifications, certifications, and training?

All Bambi Day Care lead teachers are certified or are on the pathway to receive their certification.
All Bambi Day Care staff are qualified and receive required trainings every year.

Do all employees complete background checks?

All Bambi Day Care employees go through a multiple background checks such as, Department of Health and Mental Hygiene (DOHMH), Department of Education (DOE), Department of Investigation (DOI), and Department of Children and Family Services (CFS) .

What is the staff-to-child ratio for each age group?

The maximum class size for 3K classroom is 15 students. Each 3K classroom is staffed with one teacher and one assistant teacher.
The maximum class size for Pre-K classroom is 20 students. In classes of 18 students or less, we staff one teacher and one assistant teacher. In classes of 19 or 20 students, we staff one teacher and two assistant teachers.

Health

What are the immunization requirements for enrolled children?

All children must be immunized in accordance with the New York Public Health Law §2164 and DOHMH regulations and provide a completed Child and Adolescent Examination Form (CH-205)

Immunization Doses Required:
• Hepatitis B (HepB) 3 doses
• Diphtheria-tetanus-pertussis (DTaP) 4 doses
• Haemophilus influenzae type b (Hib) 1 dose
• Pneumococcal conjugate (PCV) 1 dose
• Polio (IPV or OPV) 3 doses
• Influenza (Flu) 1 dose. Must be given each year between July 1 – December 31.
• Measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) 1 dose
• Varicella (chickenpox) 1 dose

Daily routines and activities

What is the daily schedule, including nap, meal times, and activity times?

The Free 3K/Pre-K programs start at 8:30 A.M. and end at 2:50 P.M.
Bambi Day Care Centers offer extended hours from 7:30 A.M.-6:00 P.M.

What is the outdoor play policy and how much time do children spend outside?

All Bambi Day Care Centers provide specious on-site outdoor playgrounds. Children have outdoor active play time 60 minutes per day during school day and additional time during extended day hours.

What meals and snacks are provided?

Bambi Day Care Centers provide two meals during school day and one additional meal during extended day hours. All meals are cooked from scratch onsite using fresh and healthy ingredients.
